User interface (UI) is used to describe any part of a digital product that a user interacts with, including tactile (touch), visual (sight), and auditory (sound). UI is a very important part of design as it encompasses all tangible elements of a website or mobile app.
User Interface (UI)
Key UI elements include:
- Input controls: buttons, dropdowns, date and time field, touchscreens, checkboxes, toggles, radio buttons
- Navigational components: search fields, tags, breadcrumb, slider, pagination
- Informational components: notifications, message boxes, icons, progress bars, audio, tool tips, pop-ups
The goal of UI is to create an interface that is easy and efficient to use. User interface must allow users to achieve their desired outcome with as minimal effort as possible. In order to accomplish this, our designers must anticipate the needs of a user and build an interface that is accessible, understandable, and easy to navigate.
By taking the desired user into account, we design products that are tailored to their unique needs and interactions. We are strategic with color schemes and typography and ensure these elements are consistent across various platforms.
The placement, size, color, and fonts are purposefully designed and arranged to facilitate a seamless flow. We use all visual components like lighting and movement to our advantage by drawing attention or taking attention away from certain elements.
